What is a CSA?
A CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) is a model of farming that allows people to buy their food directly from a local farmer. CSA members make an up-front commitment to the farmer by pre-purchasing food, which helps the farmer secure early season capital.
What is a CSA Share?
A CSA Share represents the portion of that season’s harvest that you’ve pre-paid for and are entitled to. Essentially it’s your “slice of the pie”.
How does it work?
Every Sunday you stop by the Clyde O’Scope Farm stand at Spa City Farmer’s Market. Alongside a variety of baked goods, there will be a wide selection of in-season fruits and vegetables to choose from. You pick out 7 items of your liking and enjoy the peace of mind knowing you’ll be enjoying locally grown, organic food all week!
Where / When
Every Sunday (10 am – 2 pm) at the Spa City Farmers Market, in Saratoga Spa State Park near the Lincoln Baths
Your CSA membership begins Sunday, June 18th, and runs for 20 consecutive weeks, through October 29th
